The 4th Annual Hamilton Firefighters Charity Ball, at the Grand Olympia, was a huge success. Over $13,000 was given out to local Charities. Beneficiaries this year from the HPFFA Assitance fund were; $4,000 Franklin Road School Nutrition Program, $4,000 Food4Kids, $4,000 Hamilton Burn Unit.

In addition to these donations Dr. Anthony Lombardi, from The Hamilton Back Clinic, presented the Hamilton Burn Unit with a cheque from the proceeds of his Winter Coat Drive.

This year the HPFFA Assitance Fund handed out an Appreciation Award for the first time to HPFFA member Jim McEneny. Jim has been very active in both Association and PR & Fundraising events. Acting as our Bag Piper when needed and often pulling double shifts at PR & Fundraising events. Congratulations Jim on a well deserved award. This award will become an annual tradition at the Charity Ball as we look to honor those members who constantly give back to help those who need it most.

The highlight of the night had to be when “Some Kind Of Wonderful” songwriter John Ellison hopped on stage to belt out his classic with Renegade. It was truly a special moment that all in attendance will not soon forget. Photo’s of the event will soon be updated to the Charity Ball page, keep checking back. The 2015 Charity Ball will be back at the Grand Olympia on Saturday February 7th.  Hope to see you all there again!
