On Saturday, January 26, the Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL hockey team) hosted their 6th Annual First Responders’ Appreciation game (against the Mississauga Steelheads). The action on the ice was incredible and entertaining as the Bulldogs pulled off a 4-3 victory in OT in front of an excited crowd!
Fans were treated to action off the ice as well, with “touch a truck” fire trucks, police vehicles and ambulances. Dignitaries from Hamilton and Mississauga departments were on hand for the festivities, including delivery of the game puck by a Hamilton police dog.
The HPFFA Charity and Community Support team were on hand with a kids fire fighter obstacle course, puzzles and a short fire fighter challenge for the big kids too! The Bulldogs have always been a generous partner to the HPFFA and allowed the Charity to again conduct a fundraiser boot drive during the game. This year, fans donated over $2,000 into the fire fighter boots!! All of those funds will benefit the Hamilton community.
