About

The Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters Association chartered with the International Association of Fire Fighters in 1929 becoming Local 288. We represent over 530 men and women fire fighters working in our Suppression, Communication, Fire Prevention, Training and Mechanical Division.

We answer approximately 40,000 calls a year ranging from medical calls, burning complaints, structural fires, assistance calls and rescues. Our members are also trained in High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Hazardous Material Incidents, RPAS (Drone) response, Elevator Rescue and Ice Rescue.
