The HPFFA Charity made a number of donations in September to help mostly local organizations in need.  These donations primarily come from the payroll contributions made by HPFFA members on every pay cheque.

The SPACE Youth Centre – $2,000. The SPACE Youth Centre is located at 24 Main Street West, is the only youth-led drop-in centre in the downtown Hamilton core for youth between the ages of 13-24. The SPACE, which stands for Sharing Power And Centering Experience, is a community hub that is created for and by a diverse group of young people who are invested in building inclusion, youth leadership, and change in the Hamilton community.

Strides for the General – $1500 was donated by the HPFFA Charity for this annual fundraiser. In 2020, the 5km run became a virtual event.  The HPFFA was proud to have many participants including Brother Charlie Madder who acted as an ambassador for the event. MacKids Truck Tow Tour –  The McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation typically hosts annual Airplane Pull fundraiser.  Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the Miracle Plane Pull was changed to a travelling Truck Tow Tour.  While the HPFFA was unable to participate in 2020, we were proud to be able to donate $1500 to the cause.

Cystic Fibrosis Hamilton – In September, 2020, the HPFFA donated $500 to support their QUEST4CF fundraiser taking place in October.

Canadian Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial – It is with extreme pride the HPFFA supports this important event, which honours and remembers all those firefighters that have given their lives in service to Canadians. The HPFFA Charity made a $500 donation to support the annual ceremony in 2020.
